LASIK

Lasik

LASIK stands for laser in situ keratomileusis, which means using a laser underneath a corneal flapto reshape the cornea (keratomileusis). This procedure utilizes a highly specialized laser (excimer laser)

Why to get lasik done?

  • To treat refractive error
  • To improve vision
  • To eliminate the use of spectacles or contact lenses

Why LASIK at SUSRUT?

  • Eligibility criteria are maintained and strictly adhered to.
  • Each patient undergoes a pre-operative assessment for factors such as corneal thickness (pachymetry), corneal shape (topography), retinal examination for retinal status.
  • sterilization is maintained.
  • Post-operative follow up is done by qualified cornea and refractive surgeons.

How does LASIK work?

The structure of the cornea is changed to correct the refractive status of the eye.

This can be only done in patients whose power has been stable for a while, i.e. ; patients with fluctuating power should not get LASIK done as then this surgery will not promise a good result
